Stan Drake? He's the guy that did The Heart Of Juliet Jones. I remember reading that strip when I was a kid visiting my grandparents. But while Juliet and her sister were babes I thought Leonard Starr's Mary Perkins was a real hottie.
Yep you read it right dude..Stan Drake.. I came across his art from an old dude selling zerox copies of his comics basically Kelly Green and yeah some strips of Juliet Jones..I was just starting out on serious art that time during mid 90's and his style helped me a lot..he really draws kick ass beautiful looking faces and he tells stories really well. I still use those references once in a while. Imagine a 90's dude like me during Jim Lee's reign fantasizes classic comic stuff..I dunno the too detailed stuff don't appeal that much.
All I have are zerox copies..Those kind of books are not available here..those things are vintage man Yeah Neal Adams still rocks..I have some of the newer stuff he made on Continuity Comics..I just don't know if he still draws though. He and Joe Kubert are legends man.
It was Neal who made me a Green Lantern fan. There were three Kelly Greens in all. I think there were plans for a forth but it never happened. (BTW I'm collecting Mary Perkins reprints. They also have Juliet Jones. (Amazon.)
Magnificent piece. Love the way you coloured her and the background really brings the piece together. After I saw this, I had to pop in my DVD of "Woman Woman" animated film. Also, love the way you did her build; she actually looks like a beefy Amazon.
Yeah I always love her old look and will always be. She's a Goddess. DC should make up their minds because it's really annoying the way they reboot her character these days, maybe not character wise but wardrobe wise. Very unflattering makes her ordinary.
I'm one of the handful of people who like the new costume. Don't get me wrong, I prefer her old costume, but the new one isn't that bad (if you just remove the goddamn Black Canary-like boomer jacket). She's worn worse over the years. Just speaking as a woman, I think it would be nice not to have not to have a shot of Diana with her undies riding up her ass, like a permanent wedgie. But that's just me. So far, the stories with the new costume are great and I hope they say great whether the new costume remains or not.
As for DC doing stuff that ruins childhood heroes, how about Grant Morrison! (chokes and shakes him for his recent Batman work)
yeah that batman storyline heard that it angered some or most fans of the caped crusader though I don't really read that much batman nowadays. what is exactly that happened? someone from his past tries to kill him or somethin? Yeah if you like the new one that's fine with me..but that jacket has got to go . I don't like the thong style too I prefer the cut in which Linda Carter use to wear classic stuff
The first that it pissed me off is the "death" of Batman and the entire thing about Dick Grayson becoming Batman. It's been two years and I've accepted Dick as Batman. He's a great Batman. He'll never be Bruce, but he's done well. He's been having great stories and he's been holding his own extremely well. It look awhile, like two years, but I have accepted him.
This wouldn't be so hard if they actually KILLED Bruce off; but, no, Grant Morrison slingshot him into prehistoric times and for the past six months, he's been slingshot from one time to another -- prehistoric, Vikings, Pirates, Old West, etc. But he's going to bring him back to our time. But...he won't ever give up the Batman cowl. So there's going to be TWO Batmans? We only need ONE Batman. But noooooooooo we're going to have Bruce train Batmans of his choosing in every major city around the world. And the rumour is that they're bring back Cassandra Cain (who's dead) and kill off Oracle (who I love) and she'll be the new Nightwing. I hate this entire paragraph right here.
These are the two ways how I would have do it: (1) If you have to bring him back, do this: Have him meet Vandal Savage and give him immortality and then let him move through the ages, however because he has spent millions of years living while every one else has lived around him, he becomes jaded and his morals and sense of justice a little twisted. When he returns to Gotham, he becomes the nemesis of Dick's Batman. (2) Bruce is dead and keep him dead. That's it. Don't bring him back. He would never do anything to stop or severe the timeline in the first place. End of story.
hmmm looks like mark waid's storyline on kingdom come has basis because on that story batman is training and making batman's. maybe morrison took off from that idea. Maybe DC wants to give Dick the spotlight and see what pans out the time his wearing the cowl but the idea of killin bruce might be a little too much but i guess the dramatic magnitude it can give can boost sales to proportions.. i just hope when they bring him back it will be a convincing one and won't take much of the story away from dick
